Wilhelm My biography: I am a language studies major with an emphasis in Chinese. This is my second year working at the Cantú Queer Center, mostly working on the weekly newsletter QConnect. I was born in South Africa and moved to America with my family in 2008. Naturally, this has changed my life very drastically, especially in the manner that I view my queer identity. In a world where being queer is seen as something more akin to a disability (why would you want to celebrate being gay?) I never imagined that I would shape so much of my time and personality around the queer community.

I love reading fantasy novels, yoga, hookah and playing all manner of games. I have been a long time member of Queer Geeks and during my time as vice-president of that club helped it grow into an amazingly inclusive space. Certainly, I am a geek but I like keeping my body healthy (which is different from keeping it muscly) and so I do a good amount of exercise as well. My spiritual beliefs are varied, constantly changing as I encounter more of the world's expressions of spirituality. Too much to say about all that, only that it is surprisingly fun! My life has already been a big adventure and I have seen much of the world. Hopefully, that adventure will continue on for much longer.
