INTERNSHIPS

Asian & Pacific Islander Wellness Center (A&PI Wellness Center)

CLINICAL INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Intern / Trainee Responsibilities

* Internship Period: September to May (2 weeks vacation – additional vacation and time off to be negotiated with clinical supervisor)
* Client Caseload: 3-5 individual psychotherapy clients; 3-5 case management clients; will conduct initial intake and assessment, develop treatment plan, set short- and long-term goals with clients, provide ongoing counseling and follow-up
* Programmatic Involvement: Participation in agency-organized, client-related activities and events
* Optional: Management & Planning project, as designed by intern and clinical supervisor and as correlated with agency needs, such as grants reporting and writing
* Clinical Supervision: At least 1 hour per week of individual supervision AND 1 hour per week of group supervision and/or training

Intern / Trainee Qualifications

* Graduate student in social work, counseling or psychology
* Strong fit with our stated Learning Philosophy
* Demonstrated sensitivity to LGBTQ, HIV and A&PI issues
* Bilingual/Bicultural in any A&PI community, strongly preferred


GLAAD’s Internship Opportunities

GLAAD announces the following paid internships in its New York and Los Angeles Offices. Internships run for 12 weeks beginning in early June and pay a total stipend of $1200. GLAAD internships are invaluable opportunities to gain non-profit and LGBT advocacy experience in media advocacy and development work.

Applicants must be enrolled in a degree program at least half-time as a graduate or undergraduate student, or have successfully completed a graduate or undergraduate degree within the 12 months preceding the application deadline.


National Gay and Lesbian Task Force: Interns, Fellowships & workstudy

The Task Force has graduate and undergraduate internships available each school session for college and university students or recent graduates covering a variety of disciplines. Internships are generally located in Washington D.C. office but a limited number of positions maybe available at other staff locations. Course Credit for the internship will depend o the policies of the particular institution the student is attending. Interns and fellows may be compensated for time worked if not receiving academic credit Interns will gain experience working in a national organization dedicated to ending discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people.
