20th Annual Western Regional LGBTIA Conference

Fri -Sun, February 19- 21, 2010 at Cal State San Luis Obispo
Questions email Leda Hernandez at lahernan21@gmail.com

This is a great opportunity to meet other individuals who are active in the issues that affect the GLBTQIA community on the daily basis. The conference will be composed of workshops, caucus spaces, organizing, activism, and an array to meet different and similar individuals to not only network but connect with.

The Western Regional LGBTQIA College Conference is three days of workshops, discussions, lectures and special events for California Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender individuals and their allies. The conference is open to students, faculty, staff, and community members. This year’s theme revolves around three ideas: Honor the past, Impact the Present, and Define our Future. We would like to honor those who have come before us by educating and promoting awareness of our community. By promoting leadership and social development we will impact the present, and by going forth from the conference and causing change we can define our future.

The conference is intended to be a place for growth and development for anyone who fits within the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual, and their allies. The Western Regional Conference is dedicated to promoting education, leadership and social development of LGBTQIA people; to building support among populations, and coalitions between campuses.

The Student Union Assembly and the Queer Student Union will be working together in coordinating a UCSC delegation this year. We would like to extend an invitation to apply. The Application will be due on January 22nd by 5pm in (Leda's Box), located at the 2nd floor of the Student Union Assembly.
