  • Fall/ Winter Undergraduate Mixer

  • No Image Alternative Tag Provided

    .

One of the largest events of the Cantú Queer Center, the Queer Undergraduate Student Mixer is held early in the quarter to give students a chance to meet other queer-identified students. It gets quite packed, with hundreds of students mingling, snacking on food and learning about all the wonderful opportunities our community offers. There is no better place to meet, greet and get involved!

  • Fall/ Winter Graduate Mixer

  • No Image Alternative Tag Provided

    .

Specifically for graduate students, this mixer is smaller but just as much fun as the undergraduate event. It is a great place to meet the older generation of students, who understand about hard work and good fun at the same time. Come for food, stay for the new friends!

  • Merrill College's Glitterball

  • Merrill College's Glitterball

    .

No need to go to San Francisco to find your queer club! Glitterball, sponsored by Merrill College, was specifically designed to simulate the club scenes of the larger cities, with its modern music and  jam-packed floor. Filled to the brim every year, this dance is held during the campus's annual "May Is So Gay!" month of events. Any dress style, any partner(s) and identity is welcome!

  • Porter Queer Fashion Show

  • Student performers at fashion show

    .

Porter College's Queer Fashion Show has long been a part of UCSC culture. Since its origins in the 80's, the show has become a mainstay at UCSC every Spring, and is emblematic of the school’s identity as a queer-friendly campus. The performance is a variety show filled with song, dance, spoken word, and, of course, FASHION! Buy your tickets early because this event always sells out!

  • Oakes Drag Ball

  • No Image Alternative Tag Provided

    .

This Oakes College signature Spring quarter event is a great place for all gender-benders, drag queens and kings, non-conforming dancers and everybody else that wants to dance their heart out. There is also a fabulous drag show put on by students and professionals alike.

  • Queer Prom

  • Queer Prom

    .

"Were you able to take the person you wanted to ask out for high school prom to the dance?  Don't you want to relive your experience and dance with who you really wanted to dance with?  Come OUT and Queer the night away to some gay tunes and an outrageous theme!" Sponsored by Theta Pi Sigma the purpose of Queer Prom is to recreate an experience that most LGBTIQ students were unable to receive at a traditional high school prom. Additional goals are to ensure further understanding between LBGTIQ students, their allies, and people of other identities as well as to unify and build the relationship of LGBTQI students in order to build the queer student movement.
