The mission of Rainbow Slugs is to support and retain LGBTQIA2S+ staff at UCSC by centering the values of connection, inclusion, authenticity, and celebration in the workplace.

On a large, decentralized campus, Rainbow Slugs works to:

• Bring folks together with shared identities and lived experience to provide each other care, mentorship, and community.
• Cultivate a campus culture where LGBTQIA2S+ folx feel secure in expressing their identities and sharing their lived experiences within the workplace. 
• Encourage all LGBTQIA2S+ staff to take pride in being their authentic selves, fostering a work culture that moves past tolerance to center thrivingness.
